10 (More) Things We Loved at Paris Design Week 2019
We’ve already shown you two of our favorite projects from Maison & Objet — a Korean lighting brand featuring designers like Big-Game and Jinsik Kim and a pitch-perfect collection of glassware by Jonah Takagi — but we’ve had plenty of other great submissions from the recently finished Paris Design Week in the interim. One unifying factor? Consider this the year that Americans took over the French design fair, much like Milan in 2017. This was due in part to the fact that the fair’s Rising Talent Awards shone a spotlight this year on the United States, featuring work by Rosie Li, Kin & Company, Green River Project, Bailey Fontaine, Alex Brokamp, and Harold. Likewise, Triode Gallery and Wanted Design teamed up to show work by everyone from Ladies & Gentlemen to Elyse Graham. The fair was a strong showcase for other countries as well, of course, and we’ve included 10 of our favorite projects here. But in a year when it’s been hard to be proud to be an American, this was a bright spot.
