The online fashion powerhouse Moda Operandi approached us in 2018 wanting to collaborate on a project for its growing home furnishings arm, and ultimately came on board as a partner for our 2018 American Design Hot List, which identifies the names to now in American design in any given year. The partnership culminated in a trunk show sale on Moda Operandi — curated, organized, hosted, and promoted by Sight Unseen — in which past Hot List winners joined the new honorees in offering key designs for sale. We also commissioned custom objects from many of the participants that were entirely exclusive to the trunk show.
